US: Inflation Back in the Radar

The first half of 2016 was fairly weak for the US economy, but the strength of consumer spending, the most stable positive contributor to US growth, is a reassuring feature. The labour market is in good health, as also confirmed by consumer confidence. The current economic conditions suggest that the Fed is going to hike rates in December, while the biggest uncertainty remain the potential change to fiscal policy from a new US president.
